Wacker Siltronic, Corp. (Northwest Natural Gas)
This site was formerly owned and operated by NW Natural Gas.
Contaminants discovered at the site include PAHs, BTEX, and phenols. Also, in adjacent Willamette River sediments beryllium, cobalt, iron, manganese, selenium, silver, titanium, vanadium, zinc, dioxins/furans, PAHs, and DDT were found.
While groundwater is not used from this industrial area, it still has the potential to contaminate the Willamette River and may pose a threat to workers who dig on site without proper safety equipment.
A cleanup action pursuant to an administrative order began in February, 2004.
