Draft Restoration Plan Released
On July 9, 2012, NOAA and other members of the Portland Harbor Natural Resource Trustee Council released a draft Portland Harbor Restoration Plan and Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement. The plan’s release marks a major milestone in the Natural Resource Damage Assessment process for the Portland Harbor Superfund site. The plan outlines restoration options and guides how specific restoration projects will be chosen to compensate the public for losses caused by contamination in the Portland Harbor Superfund site. The Trustee Council will host two public meetings in Portland to present the plan and gather public comments:
- July 17, 2012 from 5:30-7:30 PM at St. Johns Community Center, 8427 N. Central St. Portland, Oregon, 97203.
- August 2, 2012 from 4:30-6:30 PM at Portland State University, Smith Memorial Student Union, Room 238, 1825 SW Broadway, Portland, Oregon, 97201.
