Plan Released for Willamette North of Fremont Bridge

The River Plan Team will hold open houses November 3 and December 3

The City of Portland's River Plan Team announces the release of a proposed plan for the North Reach of the Willamette River in Portland (from roughly the Fremont Bridge downstream to the where the Willamette meets the Columbia). The Team is also sponsoring Open Houses to acquaint the public with the draft plan's proposal.
 
1. The Draft North Reach Plan: What It Is and How to Get It
 
The proposed plan includes a wide range of recommendations developed in consultation with stakeholders, topic experts and the community. The draft plan proposes a suite of new public investments, strategies, policies, and regulations to address challenges and build on opportunities along the river. Recommendations address five topic areas: economic prosperity, watershed health; access; riverfront communities; and, working with partners.
 
The River Plan / North Reach Proposed Plan is organized into four volumes which may be viewed and downloaded from the River Plan website:

The draft is also available on CD, and printed copies are available for temporary check-out at the Planning Bureau (1900 SW 4th Ave, Suite 7100).

2. River Plan Open Houses
 
The River Team will host two public open houses where people can pick up a copy of the proposed plan and talk with staff.

3. Planning Commission Schedule
 
Before the draft Plan can go into effect, it first has to be approved by both the Planning Commission and the City Council. Anticipated dates for presenting the plan to these bodies are shown below (all dates subject to change):
