This months meeting we will be discussing Fuel Tank Seismic Stability Standards in the Portland Harbor with Michael Kortenhoff from Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (ODEQ). ODEQ would like\u00a0to get community feedback about these new developing\u00a0standers, come prepared\u00a0to ask lots of\u00a0questions and voice your concerns.\u00a0We will also discuss Portland\u2019s New Renewable Fuel Standards with Pam Neild, City of Portland Planning and Sustainability. The Portland Bureau of Planning and Sustainability (BPS) was seeking community feedback, that ended Oct. 3rd,\u00a0on another initiative to meet the City\u2019s 2050 climate and renewable energy goals by<span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/willametterivercleanup.us18.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=de8ecfc30d0417f807f689868&amp;id=5d38f68d94&amp;e=c38304d1c3\" target=\"_blank\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/Willametterivercleanup.us18.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3Dde8ecfc30d0417f807f689868%26id%3D5d38f68d94%26e%3Dc38304d1c3&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1665606994775000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0Sbp_80IB3L-_ADno6CG37\" fg_scanned=\"1\" rel=\"noopener\">reducing dependence on nonrenewable fossil fuels.<\/a><span>\u00a0<\/span>Come and join us to find out what this means for our community and our river in the CEI Hub.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Guest Speakers:\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mike\u00a0Kortenhof is a manager at the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality, currently responsible for the safe management of underground storage tanks and cleanup of petroleum contaminated property. Over 30 years at DEQ he has worked in programs protecting Oregon\u2019s land, water and air and been involved in numerous strategic planning, program development and process improvement initiatives. Mike received a M.S. in Environmental Engineering from the University of Washington and a B.A. from Lawrence University. \u00a0 He is a Registered Geologist and Professional Engineer.\u00a0 With the move of DEQ Headquarters to the Lloyd District in 2016, Mike is committed helping shrink the footprint of his growing work neighborhood.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pam Neild is a transportation Decarbonization Project Manager with the city of Portland Planning and Sustainability. Pam holds a masters degree in Community and Regional Planning from the University of Oregon. Her professional background includes brand management and public participation consulting as well as local government sustainability program design and implementation. When she&#8217;s not working, Pam stays active: sailing with her family, organic gardening and playing the piano.
